Hook A Kid On Golf, established in 1990, is one of America's most comprehensive youth golf development organizations. Its offerings include Start Smart Golf, Tee Level Clinics, Green Level Training Programs, Challenge Golf Leagues and the annual Traditions of Golf Challenge national tournament. Hook A Kid On Golf is a past recipient of the Golf Digest Player Development Award and the PGA Tour's prestigious Card Walker Award, which is presented annually in recognition of a significant contribution to junior golf. The program has introduced well over 50,000 children to the game since its inception. Programs are run at over 200 sites across the country and on military bases around the world. Boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 15 who have never played golf before are introduced to the game through 12-15 hours of clinic time. Clinics are scheduled to be five days of full swing and short game fundamentals, as well as one day of on-course play. The clinics will be held at a driving range, open field, or an actual golf course.
As part of the clinic, each kid is provided with a new starter set of golf clubs. Other items will also be provided such as a Hook A Kid On Golf hat, collared polo shirt, golf balls, bag tag, rules book, one-year subscription to Tee-To-Green Newsletter and more.
This program can be used as a follow up to the Tee Level Clinic, and designed to prepare kids ages 8-15, who have already been introduced to golf, for comfortable and successful on-course play. The format stresses the importance of learning the rules and etiquette of the game. The program includes a series of six 90-minute clinics in which kids receive skill instruction combined with practical and basic rules that are taught before and reinforced throughout the program.
Each kid will receive a membership kit which includes: carry pack, golf supply kit, golf balls, one-year subscription to Tee-To-Green Newsletter, Green Level Player Handbook, rule book, rules and etiquette test, bag tag and more.
This league is for kids between the ages of 8-15 and can be used to follow-up to our Green Level Training Program. It was designed so kids of varying skill levels could practice and play in a format that stresses fun and learning, but also has an element of competition. To participate, the kids must have participated in any Tee Level Clinic, Green Level Training Program or other junior program and they have to pass a minimum skills requirement and a rules and etiquette test, based on the Site Coordinator.

Kids between the ages of 5-7 will use SNAG Golf equipment, which is safe, fun and highly successful in teaching the basic fundamentals of golf. Start Smart Golf emphasizes parent participation. Parents will partner up with their children through a series of motor skill development stations that will teach the basics of putting, chipping and the complete swing in a fun, stress-free atmosphere. This program can be conducted year round and is generally offered as a once a week program which should run for 7 weeks.
Kids between the ages of 7-9 will use SNAG Golf equipment, which is safe, fun and highly successful in teaching the basic fundamentals of golf. This program is a great follow-up to Start Smart Golf and it focuses more on the basic golf terms and etiquette lessons. It is set up for 16 participants with Volunteer Coaches there to supervise each session. Participants are divided up into teams of 4 and assigned a coach for the duration of the 6 week-long program.
