Coming to The 2009 Solheim Cup at Rich Harvest Farms is more than just seeing a professional golf tournament. Along with the LPGA, the Kids Golf Foundation is offering a Youth Group Ticket Program to organizations willing to attend as a group together. Both junior golf groups and non-golf groups are encouraged to attend. Under the Youth Group Ticket Program, Children 15 and under get in free and children ages 16-21 and adult chaperones have a discounted rate on tickets!

This is a great opportunity to get a group together to come out and enjoy women’s golf at its finest! Take advantage of the chance to be a part of the most prestigious event in women’s professional golf, while supporting the Kids Golf Foundation at the same time.

There a variety of fun, educational and interactive opportunities during The Solheim Cup, including the Solheim Cup FORE Kids Pavilion, open daily August 17-23, 2009. This is an activity area dedicated to kids of all ages, their families and youth groups who attend the premier golf event. The purpose of Solheim Cup FORE Kids is to provide spectators with an area to visit and spend time in during tournament week. A Behind The Scenes Tour, Scavenger Hunt and more will be offered daily.

The Kids Golf Foundation hopes youth organizations that get involved in The Solheim Cup recognize the wonderful opportunities available to youngsters who could use events like this as inspiration and an introduction to the sport.

“As a Foundation that is dedicated to junior golf, our hope is that through their experience at The Solheim Cup, kids are inspired to get involved in golf or continue with the sport,” said Holly Alcala, Director of the Kids Golf Foundation. “The Solheim Cup is a wonderful illustration of how individuals who share a dream and passion combine to form a team to pursue a goal. We hope groups who attend use the event to reinforce that and other important messages to their youth.”

“Attending a professional golf event with a group forms friendships and builds relationships because the kids have a common goal in golf,” said Michelle Ewers, Site Coordinator for South Suburban Home School and Gym Group. “And when groups travel to an event, they have time to be themselves and have fun, have good conversations, and build team camaraderie.”

The Foundation has encouraged youth groups to show their USA spirit by wearing red, white and blue, creating and bringing posters to support their favorite Ladies Professional Golf Association Player and stopping by the Solheim Cup FORE Kids Pavilion for a free patriotic tattoo and American flag.
